Keeping a third-year running promotion "cool", while fixing all the system bugs and giving the whole thing a new experience, plus a lot more functionality? 

Introducing the Cooler 3.0. 

The Challenge 

BWS, an Australian liquor retailer, asked us to redesign the experience of their in-app game, Cooler, to make it more user-friendly and interactive, and to have more functionality than it had done in the two years since its inception. On top of this, we also re-launched Cooler as a stand-alone promotion for the first time.

My Role 

I was tasked with redesigning the app's UX flow, creating a central dashboard, and introducing additional functionalities. The new visual identity elevates Cooler’s experience along with the introduction of haptics, sounds, animations, and interactions. Inspired by arcade nostalgia, bright block colours, hash lines, and heavy drop shadows were used to conjure a fun take on the gaming app genre - all while maintaining BWS’ feel and personality.
